In 2012 our company had reached a breaking point. We had grown beyond our capacity to manage the ever-growing paperwork and information demands that go along with every order. Frustrations were high, efficiency was low and, frankly, I couldn’t take much more. Rather than downsizing our company we decided to turn to Memorial Assistant.

In Memorial Assistant we have an all-in-one system for managing our order documents (order forms, proofs, work order), inventory, cemetery database, order tracking, purchase orders… everything we need to run our business. The task of implementing the software seemed daunting at first, but we started slow and we found that the learning curve was a small one. Data input very quickly became second nature, especially as we quickly saw the benefit to having that information constantly at our fingertips. Aside: The sample database was invaluable as we used it to help determine how to label things and get started. We started with essentials and, over the course of the next couple of years, increased the amount of data we put into the system. That’s one of the many beauties of this program: you don’t have to put every detail of every order in to benefit from MA.

Now that we input virtually everything into Memorial Assistant I can essentially run our entire company from my desk. It’s so easy to use from a production standpoint that each of my employees enter their work through every step of the process (but only have access to the information they need to let me know what they’ve done). And if that weren’t enough, Lisa is continuously updating the software and the level of service she provides exceeds even the highest expectations.

No more constantly looking for orders. No more placing every customer on hold while we run through the shop to check on inventory or order status. No more sending our truck out with a delivery only to realize after the fact that we had another job that could have been taken to the same cemetery. And no more feeling like our business is running us rather than us running our business.

On Jan. 1, 2019 we went live using Memorial Assistant as our management software. I am more than happy to say that the Memorial Assistant product has proven itself to be EXACTLY what it is marketed to be. No surprises, no curve balls, no added modules needed. It just works! It is a very straight forward, very intuitive product, that gives you precisely the information you need in every facet of managing a retail monument business. The Inventory and Production Tracking features are accurate and easy to use and understand. On the financial side: the customer account and contact information is accurate and readily available to any person in our office, giving us the ability to respond to customer inquiries and questions in a timely and much more professional manner. The commission payment process has been consistently accurate and straight forward to use as well.

Having used the software now to setup and process nearly 450 orders this year, I am certain that we undoubtedly made the right decision. My only disappointment is that it took me 36 years to find it.

If you are looking for a very straight forward, intuitive to use system that is already designed around the specific needs to manage a monument company, I see no reason in the world to look any further than Memorial Assistant. Would this system be appropriate to run Lockheed, General Motors, or Exxon Mobil? Probably not. Is this system EXACTLY what is needed to manage a Monument Company? Without hesitation my answer to that question is an overwhelming yes! …… I am without question, their biggest fan.

After 20 years in the monument industry, it was time to upgrade our outdated computer software to help our business continue to grow with the fast changing times. After researching many potential solutions, we came across Memorial Assistant, designed by Lisa Way. I will admit at first I was skeptical that Memorial Assistant would give us all the tools our business needed, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that it does all that and so much more!

From scheduling and inventory tracking to bookkeeping and vendor payments, I would highly recommend Memorial Assistant to anyone in the industry looking for a one stop software solution. Any time updates are needed, Lisa is always there and prompt to respond. She can do just about anything and gives us custom reports to work with as well.

Our company has been using Memorial Assistant for about four years now, and it has been a game changer for us. The ability to track and stream-line everything has been a real advantage. We are in a rural area, so before Memorial Assistant, it was very difficult to schedule and route everything without missing something.
